Hot club style originals with an Eastern European flair.
The concept for this album came from dear friend and visual artist Tom Page. Tom has been creating brilliant art in our northern Minnesota community for many years and has also produced several multimedia arts events which include visual art, music, and writing. I deeply thank him for the use of the title “Peasants With Torches”. It perfectly embodies the feel I hope to achieve with this album.
I want to thank my beautiful wife Katie Marshall and our children Evo and Leo Miltich for their continued love and support. I also need to thank my dear friend Martha Larson for continued love and support of my musical career and this album. Many of the songs on this record have been written in honor of my family members, including my great grandparents, Mare Papa and Andro Miletic’ who were Croatian immigrants from Zadar and Dubrovnik, Croatia (Homesick). There is a song dedicated to my Grandpa Paul Anderson (Grandpa Zeke’s Bossa Nova), as well as a song written for my wife Katie Marshall (Crepescule with Katie). In many ways this album was created to honor my family and ancestors and to keep the memory of them and their culture alive. I dedicate this album to my two beautiful boys, Evo and Leo Miltich (Miletic’).
