Hono Winterstein - Horizons (2019)

Originally from Forbach, Lorraine, Hono Winterstein is a “maestro” of the gypsy pump (at this level, they are counted on the fingers of one hand!). After having distinguished himself with Dorado Schmitt and other great figures of the guitar (Stochelo Rosenberg, Tal Farlow …), Hono has acquired an international reputation by becoming the faithful accompanist of Biréli Lagrène and his Gipsy Project since the beginning of the 2000. With Biréli, Hono “rolled his hump” around the world, playing on the biggest stages and in the biggest festivals (Montreux, Marciac, Vienna, Antibes, Olympia, Japan …). His rhythmic skills, his experience and his scenic presence make him today an essential reference of the Gypsy style and a sought-after partner.
Musician and composer, Hono has also made his mark on the screen as an actor in the movie “Django” released in 2017 (alongside Reda Kateb and Cécile de France), as well as in Tony Gatlif’s “Latcho Drom” (1993). ).
